It is the key to prosperity, An investment in knowledge pays the best interest and opens a world of opportunities, making it possible for each of us to contribute to a progressive, healthy society.
The world today is facing a learning crisis, with more than 260 million children, adolescents and youth not in school, and 617 million (six out of ten) not being able to read a simple sentence or perform basic maths. Yet education remains critically underfunded across the world. National governments are not prioritising education, and education budgets are not reaching those in greatest need.
Therefore it’s an urgent call for action by all thus We, CYVB aims to bring a vocational training centre that will provide skills in; Construction, Electricity, Plumbing, Mechanics, Operation of machines used for road construction & Computer Information Technology.
To accommodate the demand for affordable skills training, the CYVB will launch the construction of a modern building, 29,000 sqft multipurpose building by 2024 with an aggressive completion goal of 3 months. On completion, the building will have classrooms, workshops, cafeteria, meeting rooms and offices.
The estimated number of students that the building will be able to accommodate at any one time is approximately 150. The courses provided will enable the students to become employable or self-employed and will also provide students with an opportunity to progress their education to higher levels including polytechnic and universities.
Success of the center will need to be anchored on sound leadership and management, qualifications and quality teaching and support staff, students, equipment, revenue generation, partnerships and networks.
Funding Requirement
To date, financing of the VTC construction has to primarily come from individual . Total estimate to complete the entire construction is estimated at 5M Kshs (USD 50K).
Congolese Vision builders is seeking financial and in-kind support to accelerate the construction process of Minembwe vocational training center and subsequent benefit to the community. Donated funds/materials may be in exchange for naming rights of specific wings/floors or other benefit, if desired.
